With over 18 years of experience in hematology and stem cell transplantation, Dr. Liu has performed more than 900 stem cell transplant procedures, with the oldest patient being 73 and the youngest 1 year old.

Dr. Liu specializes in treating various malignant hematological diseases, including acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and refractory or relapsed lymphomas and myelomas.

He has extensive experience in treating non-malignant blood diseases such as severe aplastic anemia and congenital pure red cell aplasia.

He pioneered allogeneic stem cell transplantation for rare diseases such as familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, X-linked chronic granulomatous disease, congenital immunodeficiencies, and congenital keratinization defects with accompanying bone marrow failure.
