British Patient Undergoes Life-Saving Surgery for 20cm Abdominal Tumor at Beijing Tiantan Puhua Hospital

In July, James, a 30-year-old British expatriate living in Beijing, discovered a palpable mass in his abdomen during a routine check-up. Imaging revealed a large, highly vascularized tumor in his mid-abdomen, closely associated with vital blood vessels. A biopsy confirmed it was a high-grade undifferentiated sarcoma.

The surgical team at Beijing Tiantan Puhua Hospital, led by Dr. Lei Liu, collaborated with experts from top-tier hospitals to devise a meticulous plan. The operation involved the en bloc resection of the tumor along with a portion of the jejunum, ensuring complete removal while preserving critical structures.

Post-surgery, James received intra-abdominal chemotherapy and experienced a smooth recovery, being discharged two weeks later. This case underscores the hospital's proficiency in managing complex abdominal tumors and its commitment to providing advanced medical care.
