Founded in 1976, Peking University Cancer Hospital (also known as Beijing Cancer Hospital) is a leading tertiary hospital specializing in cancer treatment, research, prevention, and medical education. It is co-managed by Peking University and the Beijing Hospitals Authority.

With 801 beds and 35 clinical departments, the hospital handles approximately 750,000 outpatient visits, 96,000 inpatient admissions, and 17,000 surgeries annually. It employs nearly 2,600 staff, including 152 professors and 253 associate professors, making it one of China’s premier cancer centers.

The hospital is home to multiple key academic disciplines in oncology, including a National Key Academic Discipline in Oncology and two National Key Clinical Specialties. It hosts a Beijing Key Laboratory of Carcinogenesis and Translational Research and is involved in the development of new anti-cancer drugs and technologies. Additionally, it is the primary cancer registry center for Beijing, tracking cancer incidence and survival rates, and contributing to national and global health initiatives.

Peking University Cancer Hospital has earned a reputation for its research and treatment of various cancers, including gastric, breast, lung, colorectal, liver, and esophageal cancers, among others.
